Submarine diving

Cobwebs Day

"O" Boat Submarine Cobwebs Day

Cobwebs day is a name given to an event that usually occurs at the end of a maintenance period. As the name implies it is a day at sea that puts the submarine and crew through a series of exercisers. The main exercise is diving, and all being well, surfacing.

Gosport in Hampshire was where the majority of "O" Boats were based. This U Tube video from 1989 was produced by the local TV Station BBC South Today. The video gives an overview of life on board a submarine and briefly covers some of the days events.
